BENVENUTI to new friends and The autunno (fall) of 2005 has brought The first change of course, was the move from Northern Virginia to Norfolk ~ a great opportunity to make new friends and share our passion for Italy. Another change you older Dolce Vita friends have already noticed is our nuovo (new) website. What a challenge to try to fit in as many of your stunning Italy photos as possible. Grazie for sharing them. You’ll find this new site informative, easy to navigate and un piacere (a pleasure) to view. And I truly hope it will encourage you to keep working your Italian knowledge and language skills. Perhaps some of you will be inspired to plan your first trip, or for others — your too long delayed return! Of course, the last change is to the 2005 Travel Page…this past year we hiked the lovely Cinque Terre villages, peered in volcanoes, rode gondolas and horse drawn carriages and had a glorious harvest week picking the juiciest Sangiovese grapes with new friends. Foolish to think we can beat that, we’ll have to be content with simply planning new journeys. What does the 2006 Travel Page have in store? A cooking/tasting tour focusing on a delicious battle of flavors between northern and southern Italian kitchens, a close-up concentrated visit to the heart of the Renaissance, a special Italian wedding on the Amalfi Coast, and finally, a forced (?) return, though with some new twists, to Southern Italy due to repeated requests. We love change ~ BUT what has not changed is our common desire to celebrate the spirit and diverse richness of ITALIA! Along with new Italian adventures, 2006 will continue to offer our fun Italian language classes, cooking nights and cultural events... so stay in touch! Stay warm till primavera (spring). Ciao! Sybil
