I
was born and raised in Italy by an Italian mother and American father who taught
me to pick the best of both worlds and politely ignore the rest. Bed time stories
of Etruscans, hikes through olive groves and boat rides between islands led me
to believe Italy was a big, wondrous playground. I also learned at a young age
that any bi-cultural or bilingual skills shared with other Americans (even just
the difference between carpaccio and Caravaggio) could greatly enhance their time
in Italy. I sought out opportunities to boost everyone's enjoyment of the Dolce
Vita and with this as my greatest motivator, I began teaching Italian language
and culture classes, and organizing cultural exchanges and tours.
Over the past 10 years I co-hosted tours with different companies and planned endless adventures for family, friends, and students. Other companys tours have given me great practical knowledge, but the trips were not of my own design. I always felt they couldve been better. (Whoever said the difference between ordinary and extraordinary is simply the extra was right.)
Finally,
I had the opportunity to present my perfected Italian tour recipe: mixing just
the right amounts of culture, natural beauty, art, history, gastronomy and Italian
people with experience, service and exuberanceDolce Vita Adventures was
born.
We are not a travel agency. We dont have slick catalogs or glossy pamphlets. We have no marketing section or middleman. In fact, we operate solely (and successfully) by word of mouth. Our saved expenses allow us more value for our trip. We have careful drivers, enthusiastic tour guides and a dedicated tour director. Our groups stay small in size and we have ample opportunities to meet with each other before beginning our adventure. However, we are by no means a discount tour groupquality in location and comfort remain our priority. Our trips and our travelers are flexible, organized and well prepared, so our attitudes are adventurous and enthusiastic.
I continue to embrace Italys complex beauty and mystery and always look forward to each return; to share new discoveries with others, who like me, remain happily captivated in her loving embrace.
Thank you for visiting Dolce Vita Adventures and I hope to share an adventure with you soon!
Ciao,
Sibilla
